Many thanks to all the Sponsors of MedComms Networking

Every Tuesday we send out the MedComms Networking email newsletter to subscribers. It includes brief commentary on what we're doing and planning, and highlights relevant news to encourage sharing of information, experiences and ideas and to stimulate discussion. The text and links included below, by definition, were accurate on the day of publication, but may then become outdated.

    MedComms Networking - 25 April 2017

Today's big shout out is for everyone at Spirit Medical Communications who have now joined our elite group of sponsoring companies. Thanks, guys! None of all this MedComms Networking activity can happen without the continued support and guidance of these Sponsors. Give me a shout at any time if you want your agency to join in the fun.

It's a potentially busy time over the next couple of weeks for anyone who enjoys meeting like-minded folks in MedComms. Who's going to any of these?

Tomorrow's PM Society event: Maximising the agency and procurement relationship in pharma in London (I'm annoyed I'll be missing this one so please, can someone share their insights?)

Next week is the Annual Meeting of ISMPP at Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center National Harbor in the USA (one day I'll get there) and our own Brunch Club on Wednesday here in Oxford (includes presentations about ORCID, Altmetric and the EQUATOR Network) and also the 44th EMWA Conference in Birmingham (specifically I'm participating in their Freelance Forum on Thursday, so do say hi if you're there).

Then the following week we've our next MedComms Networking event in London, Scientific storytelling and audience engagement, hosted by AMICULUM (we've plenty of space at this one so please join us).

Most importantly, however, next week we start the build up to the much anticipated MedComms Day 2017 on 7 June! This will be our sixth year and once again I want to make it even bigger and bolder. I'm delighted we've support for the day from Concise so a big thanks to them and we've a few ideas about how we can work together to add in some new elements.

But mostly it's about you and what you're doing on the day. All being well, as always, we'll start with stories coming in as the sun rises in New Zealand and finish as it sets over the West Coast USA, crossing time zones throughout the extended global working MedComms day.

Anyone can contribute stories, news, photos, videos and so on, by emailing me and I'll post and curate content on the web site throughout the day, so we demonstrate the wide variety of activities that are being undertaken, reflect the highs and lows of working life, and maybe show us having a little fun along the way!

We'll also expect another explosion of activity on Twitter as everyone dusts off their neglected Twitter accounts and uses hashtag #MedComms to directly share news of what's occurring.

Meanwhile, if you've been on holiday these last couple of weeks, our latest webcasts include AMWA-EMWA-ISMPP joint position statement on the role of professional medical writers featuring Chris Winchester of Oxford PharmaGenesis. The Joint Statement is seen by the three membership organisations as an important initiative and will undoubtedly get lots of discussion at their respective upcoming meetings. The beauty of the way we're hosting these webcasts on YouTube means they're easily shared and watched by anyone, so please feel free. Enjoy!
