Many thanks to all the Sponsors of MedComms Networking

Every Tuesday we send out the MedComms Networking email newsletter to subscribers. It includes brief commentary on what we're doing and planning, and highlights relevant news to encourage sharing of information, experiences and ideas and to stimulate discussion. The text and links included below, by definition, were accurate on the day of publication, but may then become outdated.

    MedComms Networking - 19 January 2016

First a big shout out for our new Sponsor, Elements Communications. Many thanks guys! Indeed many thanks to all the Sponsors. It's a simple fact that without this type of support none of the MedComms Networking activity would be possible - or, at least, it would have to be done very differently. If you can support us, and want to be seen to support us, please get in touch now.

If nothing else, tell us what you want us to do! Our third Sponsors' meeting is 21 March and we want some suggestions from you to discuss there. I'm keen to discuss a third MedComms Forum event with the intention of catalyzing more open discussion amongst a wider group of stakeholders around MedComms, in particular the pharma and healthcare companies, and we'll be talking about developing a MedComms training programme to supplement the internal training I know many agencies already run themselves. Have you any thoughts on what topics might be best covered by such an external programme? Let me know.

Last week's careers event in Oxford went well again with nearly 100 wannabes and more than 40 MedComms specialists from 10 agencies. Thanks to the many who participated. You'll find the slides are now all available for free access. On that note, and at the risk of repeating myself, directory entries in the upcoming annual MedComms careers guide are going fast now. More than half the space has already gone. Let me know if you want your agency to appear in the new issue in March. I need all new materials in by 29 February latest. I'd particularly like to call out to all new medical writers; if you attended a MedComms careers day in 2015 please ping me a short quote starting "I work in MedComms..." and continuing how you like. I've collected previous examples here or see page 23 of the current MedComms Careers Guide.

So, this week I'm in London at the European meeting of ISMPP (International Society for Medical Publication Professionals). If you're also here and wanting to chat, about anything related to MedComms Networking activities or otherwise, please seek me out. Note, the hashtag on Twitter to follow is #ISMPP and with many active Tweeters now working in publications who attend ISMPP meetings there should be a useful stream.

Meanwhile, if you're missing out on the fun at ISMPP and looking for something to watch during your next coffee break, try these recent short videos:
