Many thanks to all the Sponsors of MedComms Networking

Every Tuesday we send out the MedComms Networking email newsletter to subscribers. It includes brief commentary on what we're doing and planning, and highlights relevant news to encourage sharing of information, experiences and ideas and to stimulate discussion. The text and links included below, by definition, were accurate on the day of publication, but may then become outdated.

    MedComms Networking - 07 April 2020

It's the beginning of a new financial year, for me at least, and I'd like to give another massive shout out today, to the Sponsors who have stuck with us. These have all confirmed their continued support for the year ahead, despite the exceptional circumstances in which we found ourselves: Adelphi Communications, AMICULUM Ltd, Ashfield Healthcare Communications, Envision Pharma Group, Fishawack Health, Helios Medical Communications, Highfield, inScience Communications, Insight Medical Writing, Lucid Group, McCann Health Medical Communications, nspm, Ogilvy Health, OPEN Health, Oxford PharmaGenesis, Prime Global and Wave Healthcare Communications.

    Kudos to all.

It's a simple fact that without them, none of this MedComms Networking activity could happen the way it does. That's mostly free of charge for everyone. So please, at the very least, react to and share my LinkedIn post today. We all win from more positive noise in support of #MedComms.

For better or worse, then, it looks like we'll stagger on for another year's activity at least.

And mostly, for now, that's lots of online activity.

Last week's webinar featured Sarah Sikora from Envision Pharma Group talking about the challenges for sustainability in medical communications in a variety of areas from congress travel to office supplies. I hope we might have helped start a useful discussion across MedComms and I know Sarah would be delighted to hear from anyone who might participate in a cross-industry working group to share ideas. Watch the free video recording here or check out the full collection of 200+ MedComms videos that are always freely accessible at

Read more about our discussions in #GreenMedComms: join the movement! posted by Emma Evans of Aspire Scientific in The Publication Plan.

Meanwhile, this afternoon I'm running another MedComms Workbook Huddle via Zoom. It's primarily for MedComms Workbook subscribers but, in the spirit of the moment, any other freelancers and interested parties are welcome to join us. No registration required, just show up at 15.00 UK time, see what's occurring and join in as you like (note this link now incorporates their new password system).

Last week's general discussion worked really well. Today we're going to be joined by Christian Hambly aka "The Freelance Geek" who specialises in helping freelancers and SMEs with their IT support. So, we'll specifically talk about IT "stuff" along with anything else anyone wants to discuss.

It's all very informal. Nobody will mind if you have a toddler on your knees or a dog cuddling up close. Within reason!

One thought is very much front of my mind at the moment, whilst we all physically distance ourselves and engage in increasingly virtual activity. MedComms Day 2020 should be interesting! It's 10 June this year. Put the date in your diary and help demonstrate the global #MedComms community spirit from wherever you are on the day.

Remember, details of all our activities are kept bang up-to-date at or give me a shout at any time if you've any questions, comments or suggestions.

Best of luck and stay healthy, everyone.
